About Me
I was brought up in the town of Northampton, United Kingdom, gained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages and European Studies (French and German) at the University of Bath in 1990, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at the University of Wales in Bangor in 1993, and the Institute of Linguists' Diploma in Translation in 2000. I am a member of the BDÜ (Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer), a Germany-based professional association for translators and interpreters.
I have around 15 years' experience of translating and teaching, including five years as a language lecturer at the Pädagogische Hochschule Heidelberg (University of Education, Heidelberg) and seven years as an in-house translator, technical writer, and translation coordinator at SAP AG in Walldorf. I set up my freelance translation business in 2006 and I am based in Joachimsthal, Germany.
